These are great for grilled Italian sausages with onions & peppers. Brats cooked in beer …yeah I’m from Wisconsin! LOL!!
Makes 6 rolls.
Ingredients
1 cup warm water
2-3/4 cups bread flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 ½ teaspoons yeast
Egg wash: 1 egg yolk with 1 teaspoon water
Sesame seeds to sprinkle
Add ingredients (except sesame seeds) to mixing bowl and knead for 5 minutes. Place dough ball into greased bowl and cover with plastic. Let rise for 1 hour. Turn dough out on floured surface and cut into bun size that you would like and shape. Place on a baking pan (I use corn meal on the bottom) cover with a towel and rise one more time for 1 hour. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds (optional) Bake in preheated oven @ 400 for about 20 minutes.
Yummy! It’s recipe day on my blog-you should link up in the comments! 😀
What’s the typical number of buns you get from one batch of dough, Carol?
Will check it out Therese!
Susan, I’m making them this afternoon and I’ll let you know.
Are they nice and light? We are having steak sandwiches at the campground tonight, Send a few over , will ya?
Yes they are Ingrid. I’m trying them in the bread machine today on the dough setting. No time to knead today. LOL
